Escape from Tarkov: How to complete Gunsmith quests [6-10] for Mechanic (Updated for patch 12.12.)

Gunsmith quests are arguably the easiest method of gaining XP after you reach the Flea market level. They give you a nice boost to a new level when completed.

Some players avoid these quests as they can hit your pocket quite deep when buying the parts necessary, however, I would point out that for the most part, Mechanic pays well for the quests.

In the long run, you can get thousands of XP and level up Mechanic with just a couple of hundred thousand rubles spent - which is basically one good Scav run on Reserve.

Just like in the earlier guide for parts 1-5, we will use a different approach from the main one on Tarkov's wiki in order for you to finish these quests cheaply as possible.

Unlike the first 5 Gunsmith parts which changed massively after patch 12.12,  parts 6 to 10 remained pretty much the same

So let's jump right back in where we left off in the previous guide.

You must be level 18 to start this quest.

- Remington R11 RSASS 7.62x51 marksman rifle - Peacekeeper LL3

- Colt buffer tube - Peacekeeper, Skier LL2

- AR-15 Magpul MOE pistol grip - Peacekeeper LL3

- Magpul M-LOK AFG tactical grip - Skier & Peacekeeper LL3

- Magpul MOE Carbine stock - Skier & Peacekeeper LL3

- Magpul MOE Carbine stock series Rubber Butt-Pad - Skier & Peacekeeper LL3

- SIG Sauer SRD762Ti 7.62x51 sound suppressor - Peacekeeper LL3

- 30mm Scope mount - Jaeger LL2

- EOTech Vudu 1-6x24 riflescope - Jaeger LL3

Remove the default stock, pistol grip, and muzzle brake, and just drag everything else on the gun.

For finishing this task you will receive 2 physical bitcoins as a reward which can be sold for a good price on a flea market.

R11 RSASS is a good alternative to the popular M1A

Part 7 is unlocked at level 18, so you can do it right after part 6. To do that, you are going to need the following parts:

- Remington Model 870 12ga pump-action shotgun - Skier LL2

- Magpul AFG tactical foregrip - Skier & Peacekeeper LL3

- Magpul M-LOK 4.1 inch rail - Mechanic LL2

- Magpul M-LOK 2.5 inch rail - Mechanic LL3

- M870 Magpul MOE handguard - Mechanic LL2

- M870 Magpul SGA polymer stock - Mechanic LL3

- Remington Tactical Choke 12ga - Skier LL2

- NcSTAR Tactical blue laser LAM-Module - Skier LL1

Start by replacing the old stock and handguard with the new ones. Add the 2.5 & 4.1 rails. Add the choke and laser in the end. The reward for turning in this quest is around 100.000 rubles which means you'll probably end up earning some money with this quest.

You will also get the Glock, which you can use for the Stirrup quest .

I would suggest doing the Strittup quest in Factory, as most people going in won't be armed to the teeth, unlike the rest of the maps. Pistols, in general, can be very powerful for one-tapping your opponents.

Part 8 is unlocked at level 19 and does require you to purchase a big list of items. But don't worry, you will get your money back as the reward is two bitcoins, which sell for a good price on the flea market.

- AKM 7.62x39 assault rifle - Prapor LL1

- AK AKademia Bastion dust cover - Skier LL1

- Primary Arms Compact prism scope 2.5x - Skier LL2

- Compact Mount adapter for sights - Skier LL2

- Fortis Shift tactical grip - Peacekeeper LL3

- AK-74 polymer stock (6P20 Sb.7) - Prapor LL1

- SilencerCo Hybrid 46 Direct Thread Mount adapter - Mechanic, Peacekeeper LL2

- SilencerCo Hybrid 46 multi-caliber silencer - Peacekeeper LL2

- AK Zenit RK-3 pistol grip - Skier LL3

- AK 7.62x39 Magpul PMAG 30 GEN M3 30-round magazine - Peacekeeper LL2

- AK CAA RS47 handguard - Peacekeeper LL2

Start by stripping the gun: remove the handguard, muzzle brake, pistol grip, dust cover, rear sight, stock, and the mag.

Drag all new parts in and don't forget to replace the magazines. Turn in the gun and go get your bitcoins.

I would suggest saving this gun to the weapon presets as it is a powerful weapon for close encounters.

Part 9 is unlocked at level 20 and the shopping list is smaller than the previous one. Be sure to get the correct AKS gun as there are several guns with a similar name. The shopping list is the following:

- AKS-74N 5.45x39 assault rifle - Prapor LL2

- AKS-74/AKS-74U Zenit PT Lock - Skier LL2

- AK Zenit DTK-1 7.62x39 & 5.45x39 muzzle brake & compensator - Skier LL2 k

- AK Zenit RK-3 pistol grip - Skier LL3

- AK Zenit PT-3 "Klassika" stock - Skier LL3

- AK Zenit B-33 dust cover - Skier LL3

- AK Zenit B-10M handguard with B-19 upper handguard mount - Skier LL3

Just remove the stock, pistol grip, dust cover, and handguard, and just drag all new parts in.

This quest will not reward you with rubles but euros instead. You will also get the Colt M4A1 5.56x45 assault rifle , which you can mod pretty decently into a killing machine.

Colt M4A1 can be modded in any number of ways to suit each map

This part unlocks at level 20, just as part 19 so they can be done one after the other. As with every part, there are numerous ways to mod this gun but this is the cheapest we found find:

- AK-105 5.45x39 assault rifle - Prapor LL3

- Compact Mount adapter for sights - Skier LL2

- AK Zenit B-10M handguard with B-19 upper handguard mount - Skier LL3

- Primary Arms Compact prism scope 2.5x - Skier LL2

- AK Zenit RK-3 pistol grip - Skier LL3

- KAC vertical grip - Peacekeeper LL1

- AK Zenit B-33 dust cover - Skier LL3

- SilencerCo Hybrid 46 Direct Thread Mount adapter - Mechanic, Peacekeeper LL2

- SilencerCo Hybrid 46 multi-caliber silencer - Peacekeeper LL2

- AK-74 5.45x39 6L31 60-round magazine - Prapor LL2

Put the RK-3 grip instead of the default one. Remove the dust cover, handguard, muzzle brake, and the rail, and drag everything else to the gun. Make sure you have enough space in the stash as the silencer will increase the length of the gun.

That is it for the Gunsmith quest parts 6 -10. The parts have been updated for patch 12.12.

Some of the guns on this list are quite good, and you might want to try them out in raids.

I would suggest you mod the ones you like to suit your gaming style and the types of maps you play most often.

When you're done with parts 6-10, be sure to continue with last 6 parts here .
