Modern Warfare 2 devs Infinity Ward are especially proud of their AI which are set to be the most realistic and deadly we’ve ever seen.

Modern Warfare 2 is set to bring the most advanced and realistic AI that Call of Duty has ever seen, and Infinity Ward have explained how they created these extremely deadly AI.

Modern Warfare 2 has finally been revealed ahead of its October 28 release, with the gameplay reveal trailer showing Task Force 141 in action. The devs have also given a ton of details about the new Field Upgrades, vehicle mechanics, and more, but they’re especially proud of the AI, which they believe brings the world of Modern Warfare to life.

CharlieIntel were invited to a creator session ahead of Modern Warfare 2’s reveal where Mark Grigsby, Animation Director at Infinity Ward, explained what makes the AI so realistic and deadly.

Modern Warfare 2’s devs took inspiration from an unlikely place to design how the AI moves around an area. They observed how an airsoft player tried to avoid getting hit, checked their corners, and preserved their life, and they liked the way it looked.

Capturing military professionals’ movement, Infinity Ward crafted AI that are fully aware of their surroundings, check their corners, and will actually care about their own life. The devs described how the AI will feel like “natural human people who are nervous about their lives.”

What makes them so deadly is that they won’t be mindless bots running out in the open, they’ll be strategically moving through an area trying to be a hard target and will be actively “hunting you.”

This advanced AI isn’t only for the campaign, either. They said that the AI will have the same level of quality in every mode, and plan to incorporate them into Warzone 2.0 for the “best Warzone experience in a long time.”

These bots could also be used for large-scale battles, where they gave the example of a game mode with 300 AI and 100 live players. However, we’ll need to wait and see exactly how Infinity Ward plan to include these advanced AI.

Vanguard and Warzone players can bag some free goodies by pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2 and there’s still more to come.

Modern Warfare 2 arrives on October 28 and pre-orders are open, offering players several freebies. If those already available aren’t incentive enough, Activision have confirmed that more pre-order bonuses are still to come.

Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone are about to receive their mid-season update, then as soon as Season 5 concludes, Modern Warfare 2 will be here. Players are desperate to get their hands on Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, with the most dedicated CoD already having the game pre-ordered.

Anyone who pre-orders Modern Warfare 2 will get early access to the open beta and the Final Judgement bundle in Vanguard and Warzone which includes an executioner-themed Lucas skin and an Automaton Blueprint, and there’s still more to come.

Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded have been announced, bringing brand-new game modes, the Vargo-S Assault Rifle, and, finally, Vanguard Zombies camos to Warzone.

After announcing Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, the devs confirmed that the bundle is “one of just several instant pre-order rewards for Modern Warfare II before its official launch on October 28.”

Although the devs haven’t revealed what these bonuses will be, they’re “instant” rewards ahead of launch, so they’ll be for Vanguard and Warzone. We would expect more bundles, Operator skins, and Blueprints, but we’ll need to see what Activision have in store.

The devs also teased that a classic Modern Warfare villain will be arriving in Vanguard and Warzone “soon,” perhaps in a similar way to Woods ahead of Cold War and Kingsley before Vanguard.

This could be anyone from Al-Asad to General Shepherd, but we shouldn’t have to wait too long as they’re “coming soon.”

For more on Modern Warfare 2, check out FaZe Swagg revealing that slide canceling will see a major change and all of the leaked multiplayer modes.

Top Warzone streamer and FaZe star Swagg broke down the major movement changes coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Top Warzone streamer Kris ‘Swagg’ Lamberson has already played Modern Warfare 2 and has explained the movement mechanics coming to both multiplayer and Warzone 2, including slide cancel changes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a direct sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, arrives on October 28. With it being one of the most anticipated CoD games in years, players are desperate to know every little detail they can about both multiplayer and Warzone 2.

FaZe Swagg was invited to a hands-on session with Modern Warfare 2 and shared details on how the game’s movement will feel, describing the major differences between the original and the sequel.

While watching Warzone YouTuber notgage’s Throwing Knife gameplay along with fellow FaZe member Santana, Swagg discussed Modern Warfare 2’s new movement mechanics.

“I’ve played Modern Warfare 2 … it played just like how [Modern Warfare 2019 played] — the feel of it,” he revealed.

Although clarifying that “it’s definitely not the same,” he said it was hard to explain exactly what was different about it. However, he did add that “the movement is different” and said that “you’ve got the dolphin dive now, you have that aspect in the game.”

When Santana asked if slide canceling is in Modern Warfare 2, Swagg shook his head and said that it’s “not like how you think it is.”

Slide canceling has been a hotly debated topic in the community, with some preferring how it adds a skill gap, but others feeling that it’s an exploitable movement mechanic and is known for being extremely hard on controllers.

It sounds like slide canceling will be in Modern Warfare 2 in some way, but should feel different from how it does in Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone.

He concluded by explaining “you never know” about all of the movement mechanics until the game comes out as there was actually a time when nobody knew slide canceling existed.

Activision PC games have been Battle.net exclusive for years, but a new Steam page could mean more games are coming to Valve’s launcher.

2017’s WWII was the last CoD game to arrive on Steam, with Activision opting to use their own Battle.net launcher instead. Activision now have an official publisher page on Steam, meaning that more Activision games could arrive ahead of Modern Warfare 2.

If you’re a PC gamer, there’s an extremely high chance that you have Steam installed. Although it boasts a huge collection of games, publishers such as Activision and Ubisoft have switched to their own launchers or the Epic Games Store over the past few years.

Starting with 2018’s Black Ops 4, Call of Duty titles were exclusive to Battle.net, but that’s set to change with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. It might not be the only one though, as Activision now have an official publisher page, and it has fans speculating about what it could mean for the future.

Call of Duty players were delighted to learn that Modern Warfare 2 will arrive on Steam when it launches on October 28, potentially showing the active player counts and opening the game to the modding community.

As spotted by Eurogamer, Activision now have an official publisher page on Steam. This has all of their Steam titles in one place, and players immediately started speculating what this could mean going forward.

In a Reddit thread discussing the news, players immediately called for the Tony Hawk games and Crash Bandicoot 4, which has reportedly had its leaked app ID updated several times over the past few weeks.

There’s every chance that the Call of Duty games that were missed (BO4, Modern Warfare, Cold War, and Vanguard) will make their way to Steam later as well, perhaps as part of the Microsoft acquisition.

Microsoft’s first-party games such as Halo Infinite are available on Steam, so once the deal goes through in 2023, we could see games such as Warzone, World of Warcraft, and Diablo make their way to Valve’s platform.
