A neighbor was sentenced to jail for allegedly pointing a rifle at a family with Christmas lights.

According to an arrest report by Marion, the family lit up the Christmas lights at their home in Umatilla on Wednesday when the mother looked up and saw their next-door neighbor, 66-year-old Randy Cronk, looking at them with a rifle scope. County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the report, the woman told the representative that she was worried that Kronk would shoot "she and her family."

He initially fled the area in a white Chevrolet truck, but representatives later found him at his home at 17540 SE 260th Avenue Road. He admitted that he had pointed the weapon at the family, but described it as "a very old BB gun that is no longer usable". He said that he heard noise from his neighbors, "nosy" and wanted to see what they were doing. Cronk produced an "older Daisy .22 projectile gun", and the deputy stated in the report that it "still can pump normally."

Kronk was arrested on three counts of serious armed assault. He was detained in Marion County Jail and released after paying $1,500 in bail.
