BodyArmorNews.com had the opportunity to interview Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of MKU and his team to learn more about the company and its future plans.

"This company was founded by my father and my brother in 1985," Mr. Gupta told the story of MKU's founding. "We started the defense business in 1989 by supplying helmets to the Indian army. In 1992, we became the sole supplier of the Indian army."

In 1999, the Kargill War broke out between India and Pakistan. The army needs protection in the high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir. At that time, the army used heavy body armor made of steel. During the war, India bought 40,000 sets of such body armor from European countries.

"After the war, the Indian army contacted us," Mr. Gupta continued. "They saw that we were making helmets and they wanted us to study the use of composite materials to make helmets and bulletproof vests. That was when we entered the body armor business. We were the first company in India to start manufacturing lightweight composite body armor for the Indian armed forces. .

"In 2003, we had the opportunity to provide body armor for the Spanish armed forces. I am proud to say that all Spanish soldiers fighting in Iraq use body armor made by MKU."

This is an industry-leading night vision and thermal equipment solution that allows soldiers to operate in Operate in the dark. These are completely developed in-house, with extensive research and development and rapid technology adoption. This includes monocular and binocular night vision goggles and thermal imaging.

"Our second product line is KAVRO Soldier Protection. These are smart personal protection solutions that use patented technologies and systems developed after years of research and development to provide soldiers with protection against multiple threats. These include bulletproof helmets, body armor and bulletproof shields. . For our last department, we have KAVRO platform protection, which is used to protect helicopters, ships, ships and aircraft."

MKU uses leading ballistic materials from the United States and Europe in its products, such as DSM Dyneema, Honeywell Spectra, and Teijin Twaron. "My material team is an expert in various composite material combinations," Mr. Gupta elaborated, "to provide the best body armor today."

Recently, there have been rumors surrounding the lack of body armor in the Indian army. Mr. Gupta believes that this situation is changing. "The government is taking the initiative," he explained. "They are allocating a lot of money to modernize the police and soldiers.

"Recently, we signed a contract for 160,000 helmets. The army has also bought a lot of body armor. We are a regular supplier of troops across India. Therefore, I think the government now clearly emphasizes the need to equip the police so that they can perform their duties. "

“As far as body armor is concerned, I want to say that we have one of the lightest body armor solutions on the market,” Mr. Gupta said. "Whether it is soft armor or hard armor, our solutions have passed NIJ certification. We are one of the few companies that have a very special quality control system for body armor. This is BA 9000. So, our quality control Very strict, this is where we express our confidence in our heroes through our products."

The company proudly declares that all MKU's body armor protection has been verified in battle. They are proof of this by seeing customers thank the company for saving their lives. MKU marketing consultant Ishita Kheterpal elaborated on this statement.

"In the final analysis, this is to instill as much confidence as possible for people who are entering a field where they don't know what will happen. If you have confidence, it will be your best weapon. This is the pride of the company."

"Our hero is the core," Mr. Gupta said. "Customer-centricity is the value of the company's attention. Let our hero stay focused, and we hope to develop new solutions. Through our Smart Trinity thinking process-it To play a role in function, technology and comfort, we hope to develop more innovative solutions.
